Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review
is a literary journal based in Austin, Texas that publishes poetry along with photographs, reviews and essays.

Parking is available across the street from the museum at the Brazos Parking Garage.

Literary reading in celebration of Borderlands' summer issue inspired by the Blanton Poetry Project. Edited by Katherine Durham Oldmixon, this issue focuses on ekphrastic poetry. A special section co-curated by Kurt Heinzelman and D'Arcy Randall explores artwork from the museum's collections. This issue will be on sale at the event, courtesy of the Blanton gift shop.




The Texas Commission on the Arts selected Larry D. Thomas as the 2008 Texas State Poet Laureate. In addition to publication in Borderlands, Larry's award-winning books of poetry include Where Skulls Speak Wind, Amazing Grace, and Stark Beauty.



Submit your work for publication in the upcoming issue. Since its debut in 1992, Borderlands continues to receive wide critical acclaim and garners a national readership. Submission deadline for the Fall/Winter 2009 issue is June 15, 2009.




Posters from Contributing Artist Marc Silva

The Marc Silva posters (limited edition of 150) are $35, signed and numbered. The beautiful 12" X 18" posters are the first such prints done of Silva's much-acclaimed work. Posters come in two styles. For $50, you can get a one-year subscription (two issues) and a poster of your choice. For $100, you can get a two-year subscription (four issues) and both posters.
